Contact
One email address, no contact form. Corrections are the most useful thing you can send.
Reporting an error
If a number here disagrees with the code in front of you, please say so. The most useful report includes:
- the page, and the specific figure
- the code edition and section you are reading — a 2018 and a 2021 value can legitimately differ, and local amendments differ more
- your jurisdiction, if the difference is an amendment
Every reported figure is checked against the source before anything is changed, and pages are corrected rather than quietly edited.
Suggesting a calculator
Requests are welcome, particularly where an existing tool elsewhere gives an answer without saying where it came from. Say what you are trying to size or estimate and what standard governs it, if you know.
Getting in touch
Email info@nailsandnumbers.com. There is no contact form on this site and there is no mailing list — the address above is the whole of it, and writing to it does not sign you up for anything.
This is a small independent site, not a company with a support desk. Replies are not instant, but error reports are read.
What this site cannot do
It cannot approve your build, review your drawings, or tell you what your local inspector will accept. Those are questions for your building department or a licensed engineer, and no calculator — here or anywhere — substitutes for them.
